CLARENCE, N.Y —, Greatbatch Medical will participate in the MEDTECH ‘09 bioscience industry conference on Monday, October 5, 2009 in Skaneateles, NY. The one-day conference will bring together executives from bioscience and medical companies in Upstate New York.

“It’s important for medical device and bioscience companies to come together to share best practices and strategies that will grow and strengthen the industry in Upstate New York,” said Mauricio Arellano, senior vice president of cardiac & neurology, Greatbatch Medical, and a MedTech board member.

In addition to exhibiting, Greatbatch’s President Thomas J. Hook will participate in the Opening Plenary: CEO Panel. The forum assembles CEOs from some of Upstate New York’s bioscience companies to share strategies that they are employing to lead their organizations.

Bill Willick, director of lean enterprise for Greatbatch will join the panel discussion on The Future of Manufacturing in Upstate New York: Proven Strategies to Compete Worldwide and the Keys to Future Success. As part of this panel, he will discuss how lean drives improvements across all functions of the organization including manufacturing operations and business practices.

The conference will also include sessions covering trends in product liability and quality assurance; innovative versus iterative change; maintaining relationships in the bioscience industry; and raising private funding and taking a company public, among others.
