Working with a diverse team of engineers, he collaborates closely with customers to quickly develop custom components that satisfy unique requirements. Most recently Ryan worked with a team in developing new technology to support MRI compatibility solutions to support customer goals.

Jonathan is a Design Engineer for Greatbatch Medical and takes pride in adding value for his customers. Through creating close partnerships he develops new finishes and new features for cases and trays that enhance product lines. He is also continuously exploring cost-effective designs for internal and customer products.

Everyday his focus is helping his customers be the most competitive in their markets by reducing the size of new technologies. His knowledge of feedthroughs and EMI filtering, along with his unique and creative approach has earned him several patents.

Through efficient techniques, he has helped deliver highly reliable products and services with shortened lead time, positioning Greatbatch Medical as one of the most competitive resources in the market.

Her passion for helping her clients improve patients’ lives has driven her to establish new technologies. Her current work includes reducing the size of the eM-able filter, to support MRI compatibility solutions to support customer goals.

Aaron Opbroek
Engineer, Cardiac & Neurology

As a Cardiac and Neurology Engineer, Aaron develops technologies that has made Greatbatch Medical a market leader in gaining access to the human vasculature. As customers develop smaller and more delicate products, Aaron’s charge is to develop valve technology that allows their product to pass through without damage while minimizing the exchange of air and blood between the patient and the surgical environment. His team’s delivery sheath technology minimizes the invasiveness of surgical procedures allowing for quicker recover times for patients.

Adam Smith
Design Engineer, Orthopaedic, Cases & Trays
Indianapolis, IN

As a Design Engineer, Adam oversees newly designed product lines from beginning to end, achieving accelerated turnarounds with ultimate reliability. Working closely with his customers, he led a team in a project to convert cases and trays from aluminum to stainless steel. In doing so, Adam and his team had to overcome multiple weight, size and silkscreen obstacles.

Tina works as a Lead Engineering Scientist in Cardiac and Neurology. Involved from concept through production she leads a cross-functional team in creating custom innovative battery designs by optimizing cell electrochemistry and other component form factors.

Sam, an Advisory Scientist in the cardiac and neurology field, is responsible for all intellectual property. His expertise has paved the way for multiple MRI-related lead projects and the development of Greatbatch Medical’s biomimetic coating. Working closely with design engineers, Sam creates proprietary technology as well as elevates quality standards across all projects.
